Yueyang Chen

Jazz Pianist / Composer

Combining a delicate touch, dynamic style, and the language rooted in the tradition, Yueyang Chen is an active Jazz Pianist and composer from Guangdong China, currently based in New York City.

Graduated from Berklee College of Music, and now NYU Steinhardt. He has studied with renowned pianist Ben Paterson, Yoko Miwa, Kevin Harris, Norman Lee and also under the mentorship of legendary drummer Lenny White and Ari Hoenig. In 2023, He was fortuned to receive the Jazz Performance Achievement Award from the institution. 

As a performing artist, he has been passionately leading and touring with various ensembles, performing at Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai, Steinway Hall, JZ, Club Evans, Fountain de Chopin, and other beloved Jazz venues in Asia. Also, as part of the Siena Jazz Workshop, He has performed with Miguel Zenôn, Philip Dizack, and David Binney

Drawing inspiration from the rich traditions of Jazz and pushing the boundaries beyond, Yueyang Chen has honed his own unique touch and feel, carving a captivating path in the young generation of Jazz artist and audience.
